Our Standards
The Exchange is a community of musicians. These guidelines exist to ensure everyone has a positive, fair, and safe experience buying and selling gear.
For Sellers
✓ Be honest — Accurately describe condition, defects, and modifications. Misrepresentation leads to returns and account restrictions.
✓ Use real photos — Photograph the actual item you're selling. Stock photos are not permitted.
✓ Ship on time — Ship within the timeframe you specify. Communicate any delays to the buyer.
✓ Respond promptly — Answer buyer questions in a timely manner. Communication builds trust.
✓ Price fairly — Price your items reasonably. Extreme overpricing degrades the marketplace experience.
For Buyers
✓ Read listings carefully — Review the description, photos, and condition before purchasing.
✓ Ask questions — If something is unclear, message the seller before buying.
✓ Pay promptly — Complete payment through the platform. Never send money outside The Exchange.
✓ Leave honest reviews — Your feedback helps other buyers and rewards good sellers.
Prohibited Items
The following items may not be listed on The Exchange:
✗ Counterfeit or replica instruments
✗ Stolen property
✗ Items with misleading or false descriptions
✗ Non-music-related items
✗ Hazardous materials or items prohibited by law
Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent ban. We review reports and take action to maintain the integrity of our marketplace. If you see a violation, use the "Report This Listing" button or contact us.
